Your new career as a building maintenance technician awaits.

This program prepares students for entry-level employment as building maintenance technicians in commercial buildings, office complexes, and apartment communities. Students gain hands-on training in electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, HVAC, painting, and interior finishes, along with work order processing, professional communication, and workplace safety. Instruction emphasizes environmental responsibility, regulatory compliance, and industry-standard practices, including refrigerant handling aligned with EPA Section 608 requirements. Graduates are prepared to sit for the EPA Section 608 certification exam.

What to Expect After Graduation

Building maintenance job opportunities include working at apartment complexes and other types of multi-family housing units. Students are prepared to sit for the EPA 608 certification – a federally required credential that proves a technician is qualified to safely handle and work with refrigerants used in air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Photo ID
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
    (Social Security, Birth Certificate, Work Visa, or Green Card)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must pass a background check
  • Passing scores on entrance assessments

Note: All students must attend a mandatory orientation before the first day of class.
