Overview
Learn English as a Second Language (ESL) by taking our free Essentials class.
Essentials is designed to help mature adults aged 18 and older, and international citizens whose diplomas are not formally recognized in the United States, develop and improve their English language skills.
Each student receives personalized instruction by expert instructors who are passionate about helping learners at all levels, from beginner to advanced. Classes are small, averaging 10 students. This allows for more individualized attention and creates a family-like environment that promotes building connections with other students.
What you’ll learn:
- Identify and understand the speech of another person
- Communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Understand written sentences for everyday life and work purposes
What to expect after graduation
When you complete the course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion recognized by GCTA. The Certificate paves the way for you to receive an acceptance letter into GCTA’s career training programs.

Eligibility Requirements
- Adult (18 years or older)
- Completed Interest Form
- Valid government picture ID
- Work authorization in the United States
Note: All students must attend a mandatory orientation before the first day of class.
