The Green Construction and Weatherization program prepares participants for entry-level careers in the construction and energy efficiency industries. This comprehensive training combines NCCER Core, NCCER Weatherization, and NCCER Your Role in the Green Environment with OSHA 30 certification to equip students with both foundational construction skills and specialized knowledge in sustainable building practices.
Participants will learn essential safety standards, construction fundamentals, and techniques for improving energy efficiency in residential buildings, including air sealing, insulation, and weatherization methods. The program emphasizes hands-on learning and industry-recognized credentials, ensuring graduates are prepared to enter the workforce with the skills and certifications needed for in-demand, high-growth careers.
What You’ll Learn
- Construction math, hand and power tools, construction drawings and basic rigging
- Lighting efficiency, heat loss and gain, and air infiltration
- How to select and install various types of insulation
- Best practices in site development, water use, energy efficiency, materials selection, waste management, and indoor environmental quality
- The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system and the role construction professionals play in achieving certification
What to Expect After Graduation
Graduates of this program are prepared for entry-level careers in construction, weatherization, and energy efficiency. With industry-recognized credentials including NCCER Core, NCCER Weatherization, NCCER Your Role in the Green Environment, and OSHA 30, participants can pursue roles such as weatherization technician, construction laborer, insulation installer, or energy efficiency technician. These positions offer a strong starting point for individuals with little to no prior experience and provide clear pathways for advancement into higher-skilled and higher-paying roles within the construction and sustainability sectors.

Eligibility Requirements
- Photo ID
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
(Social Security, Birth Certificate, Work Visa, or Green Card) - High School Diploma or GED required
- Must pass a background check
- Passing scores on entrance assessments
Note: All students must attend a mandatory orientation before the first day of class.
