Graduates of this program will learn the skills that power heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems in homes and businesses. From safety and tools, to electricity, refrigeration, and duct design, you’ll gain the knowledge to start strong in a field where skilled technicians are always in demand. Graduates are prepared for the EPA 608 Certification and ready to step into rewarding jobs with opportunities to grow, specialize, and build a lasting career in one of today’s most essential industries.
What you’ll learn:
- Fundamentals: AC/DC current, Ohm’s Law, Watts, Voltage, Power, Resistance, Capacitance, Inductance
- Residential power distribution and transformer basics
- Multimeter use, compressor windings testing, blower and condenser motor installation, and wiring diagrams
- Airflow duct system design and fiberglass duct installation
- Refrigerant recovery, recharge, recycling, and proper gauge use
What to expect after graduation:
Graduates are prepared to step into entry-level HVAC technician roles with residential and light commercial employers. Typical starting positions include:
- HVAC installer/helper
- Maintenance technician
- Service technician assistant
- Refrigeration/appliance repair assistant

Eligibility Requirements
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
(Social Security, Birth Certificate, Work Visa, or Green Card) - High School Diploma or GED required
- Must pass a background check
- Passing scores on entrance assessments
